Staying home almost all the time, no work, no school, maybe the first one or two weeks, you are feeling relaxing and enjoy the unexpected holiday. But after 2 weeks, trust me, you will start to miss the office and can’t wait to go back to work, for there is nothing to do at home!
Doing yoga while you are boring at home!
We shared 3 things you have to prepare before doing yoga at home in our last article, and we are gonna continue now!
No. 4 Find a quiet room or place
Try your best to find a spot in the house where the other members of your family won’t distract you especially if there are kids and pets around, it is not easy to concentrate on yoga exercise.
Or you can even lay your yoga mat at the corner of your bed room, just make sure there is enough space for you to stretch your legs and arms. You should feel comfortable and peace while doing yoga.
No. 5 Find a point to focus on in the room
It is easy for people to get restless if they stay in an empty room. Find a thing in the room to focus on, like grabbing a center for your yoga world. This can help you keep balance while hoding some yoga poses.
A TV, a painting or a statue for decorating and all be a great focal point.
After getting these 5 points ready, we can now really start our yoga exercise!
No. 1 Stretching and warming up your body before doing yoga is important.
Many people think that yoga is a relaxing exercise that there is no need to warm up. This is a totally mistaken. As I see, any kind of sports needs warming up. And yoga can be quite active sometimes, to avoid injuries of your muscles, we must warm our body up, this is the first step.
What can we do to warm up? You can find some warm-up yoga videos on Youtube, and here I want to show you a basic warm up yoga. We call it Sun Salutation.
The Sun Salutation, or Surya Namaskar, is a series of postures that warms, strengthens, and aligns the entire body. It serves as an all-purpose yoga tool, kind of like a hammer that's also a saw and a screwdriver, if you can imagine such a thing. It is 12 pictures performed in a single, graceful flow.
Each movement of it is coordinated with the breath. Breath controlling is important in yoga practicing. The poses in Sun Salutation is not difficult everyone is able to do it.
Do 5 rounds of Sun Salutation to stretch your body and calm your mind. If you think it is too comfortable of doing it, you can do a few more round! It is easy to practice at home.
After you warm up, we will continue in our next article!
